The Great North Woods is host to several athletic races that traverse the area’s roads and trails.
The NH-VT Covered Bridge Half Marathon is hosted by the Colebrook Kiwanis Club. The 13.1 miles race features a beautiful, mostly flat, paved, looped course that starts and finishes in Colebrook, NH. The course quickly moves from Colebrook into Vermont and follows VT Route 102 South through lush green pastoral farmland along the Connecticut River until it crosses back into New Hampshire via the Columbia Covered Bridge. Once back in NH, the course follows Route 3 North until it enters the Town of Colebrook and travels through the scenic village to return to the start location.
• 13.1 miles (Individual, 2 Person and 4 Person Relays) on a USTAF-certified race course
• 5 K (3.1 miles) on a USTAF-certified race course
• 16.2 mile which combines the 5K and Half Marathon routes

Metallak Race is an endurance adventure that treks through northern New Hampshire, including Colebrook, Clarksville, Stewartstown, and Dixville Notch. The course moves throughout the region in a way that allows competitors to complete the race without assistance from support crews.
The race consist of mountain biking, gravel grinding, trail running/hiking, and paddling. Racers may complete the course as an individual, as a team of two, or as a relay team with up to three members. For more information please go to www.metallakrace.com.

The Annual Dixville Half Marathon, is a fall tradition! The North Country Community Recreation Center organizes the race. Run solo, or do a relay with a partner or a team of four. The race goes from Coleman State Park in Stewartstown to the Rec. Center in Colebrook. Find more details.
