“There’s No Place Like Home” Exhibit

This is an immersive installation that explores the complex terrain of domestic life through the lens of women’s labor—both visible and invisible—across generations. The work reflects on the duality of the home as a site of love, care, and creation, but also of exhaustion, confinement, and expectation. The installation traces the shifting roles of women as homemakers, caregivers, and professionals. From the idealized 1950s suburban kitchen to the contemporary remote workspace that merges motherhood with modern labor, “There’s No Place Like Home” confronts how cultural myths of domestic bliss have often obscured the physical and emotional toll of maintaining them.
