The region is a favorite destination among bird hunters. The North Country’s ground cover creates the ideal conditions for upland hunting, and the area is home to large populations of grouse, pheasant and woodcock. The highest daily flush rates of the year occur in late October, and early snow in November makes it easier to track birds.

Deer hunting is also extremely popular in the North Country, as the region is known for its large bucks often weighing more than 200 pounds. The area is great black bear habitat, and if you’re lucky enough to score a moose permit, the region is legendary for its moose population.

Regardless of whether you’re a rookie or a hunter with years of experience, it’s always a good idea to hire one of the region’s expert guides. These guides can outfit you with the right gear, bring along their highly trained dogs, show you the tricks of the trade and take you to the best hunting spots in the North Country.

You’ll love the North Country’s reliable, exceptional hunting.
