Dining in the North Country of New Hampshire and Vermont

The North Country is a food lover’s paradise where visitors can enjoy locally-grown fruits and vegetables, meat, maple sugar, and an impressive collection of exceptional restaurants.

We take maple sugaring seriously, and the North Country produces some of the best maple sugar products in New England. Nowhere is that more evident than at April’s Maple in Canaan, VT, where you can buy maple products, enjoy maple-infused sausages, sandwiches and even hot dogs, and have a delicious Maple Creeme.

It doesn’t get any fresher than our locally-grown food. Here you can buy fresh, locally-raised meat at The Meathouse, situated on the Connecticut River south of Colebrook. Or get organic fruits and vegetables at New Earth Organic Farm in Colebrook. You’ll find an impressive collection of local produce at this truly unique North Country Marketplace.

While here, dine at one of the North Country’s many high-quality restaurants. For fine dining, enjoy a delicious meal at Parsons Street in Colebrook or the Spa Restaurant, just across the river from Canaan. For enjoyable pub food, check out the Buck Rub Pub in Pittsburg or Black Bear Tavern in Colebrook.

Looking for a brewery experience? After enjoying the region’s best food, wash it down with the North Country’s own handcrafted beer from Coos Brewing Company.

Whether you’re out hunting, hiking, fishing, ATVing or doing anything else in the pristine lands of northern New Hampshire and Vermont, make sure to bring your appetite!
