Weather

The North Country is home to four distinct seasons that each offer visitors unique and exciting experiences.

Cold, snowy winters arrive early in the North Country. Pittsburg averages a mind-boggling 121 inches of snow per year (the annual U.S. average is 26 inches), creating ideal conditions for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and other winter sports. Winter often hangs on well into spring, until warmer weather arrives and ushers in the spring fishing season. The region has sunny, pleasant summers with temperatures that are often cooler than much of the rest of New England, providing welcome relief from the heat. Autumns are cool and colorful, with some of the best fall foliage in the Northeast.

Thanks to these changing seasons, you can experience new adventures in the North Country all year long.
